I keep seeing reels on IG about purses and zippers and I was bored the other day and figured I’d mess around with some of my orphan blocks and see what I could come up with, the first purse I saw was this sort of boxy look where the zipper wrapped around, so I figured I could remember what the lady did and make my own, I sewed two orphan blocks together and came up with this
It wasn’t quite what I had it mind and I goofed up a few places and didn’t realize a fold under I had machine sewn the lining closed so…. I gave it to my daughter to play with!!
Then I founds two 12″ orphan blocks, one was black and teal and I made a simple boxed bottom zippered purse- once I remembered that the lining should really be in 2 pieces, half of the front plus seam allowance, then it’s easier to add the zipper!
at first I quilted the orphan block and then added the zipper and lining (sorry for the bad photo)
I was on a roll and remembered I had selvedges sewn onto batting and just sitting in a box and some were rather big, so I made 2 more zippered purses!
I had Solveig drop these off at the Emporium in town, we’ll see if they sell!
