I was so excited to join this blog hop and was able to squeeze in at the last minute of sign ups, even though I didn’t want to have any deadlines in the fall, but I got my blocks done early enough that it wasn’t a problem at all!
I’ve followed Marlene’s blog for quite a while and she does amazing long arm quilting (I wish I was that talented!
My blocks are from Chapter 9 of the book: One patch blocks.
The book provides templates, so it was super easy to duplicate and cut out
Here’s one with Triangles
And one with Apple cores (it was hard to JUST do a block, I wanted to do a whole quilt once I got started!)
And don’t be afraid of curves.
And lastly a fun tumbler block.
All these blocks were made using fabrics from Island Batik (LOVE BATIKS!)
At the end of the blog hop we will randomly choose 4 winners. Each winner will receive a copy of You Can Quilt! and a bundle of fabric. There are two fat-eight bundles of Island Batik’s Sweet Georgia Peach and two fat-eight bundles of a variety of Cotton and Steel prints that I used to make this Skill Builder quilt. When we email the winners they will be able to indicate which bundle they would prefer on a first come, first serve basis. Good luck!
Unfortunately, this giveaway is only open to US residents.
If you would like to purchase a copy of You Can Quilt! you can get a signed copy from Marlene or Leila. It is also available through AQS (as a hard copy or e-book) and Amazon
.

Curves scare me too! Love that one!
Curves scare me too! Love that one!
Curves are my nemesis. I try not to do then unless the pattern is something I can't live without doing. At that point it's usually done with a lot of mumbling to myself about why I'm doing this pattern. Rina
Great blocks Bea and……beautiful batiks!!!
I can do curves, with a pattern to guide me, tried on my own, designing a block, big fail!cork@pa.rr.com

Great job! I love Island Batik too, and the blocks really sparkle with the fabrics you've picked. And an Apple Core is on my list.
