working slow like molasses

I HAVE been quilting! just very slowly!

The kids had their last day of school last friday, so we’re all trying to get used to the new schedule.

It’s taken me 3 days to quilt the wonky house quilt, because I try to pick a time when the kids are playing or watching TV, but they STILL interrupt me- how DARE they??? LOL just kidding.

I can’t just say to them, don’t interrupt me I need to quilt. So I’d be lucky if I get one or two blocks done before one of them needed me for something. 🙂

so here’s a preview of the wonky house quilt! all quilted- I had tension issues in the beginning, but finally tweaked my top thread so it looked better- I don’t like to mess with the bobbin thread.

and look at the wonky back!

Then the other day, THIS came in the mail from richard’s quilts blog here

can you believe a GUY quilter?? so rare to see 🙂

I won a nice batik FQ bundle and a little ceramic bowl.

I must have good luck on his blog, because I won something there a few months ago too!

I also wanted to show some garden LOOT!!

Our Squash and Zucchini plants are going NUTS, they are HUGE! after two days of rain, that’s what happens I guess, we’ve tried not to let them get so big, but some were HIDING.

Now I’ve tried to cook this any way I could

anyone got any good recipes?

we gave the biggest one to Peanut for dinner, he ate it ALL!!

we took a video of it too, here’s the youtube video

Fellow hinterberg(ers) -hinterberg long arm machine owners- asked me about my extension table and I thought I’d take some pictures of it. My husband had used an old wooden cutting board and measured the base of the machine and cut out the middle part, sanded it all and added L brackets

The V 17 already had these holes in the front, so he added the little metal “strips” there too so the table just pops into place

see?! that’s what it looks like, it IS even with the base of the frame, which took a few times of adjustments, so this way I could do ruler work!

Now don’t say anything but I ADDED another thing to my 2012 list 🙂

  1. Your machine quilting is looking good.I just canned some sweet zucchini relish and made 2 loaves of chocolate zucchini bread.Congrats on your win.

  2. This is going to be a wonderful quilt and if it takes a little longer that is fine, enjoy time with the kids now! Congrats on your great win from Richard, I won some things from him a couple months ago and his work is wonderful. Enjoy all your veggies!

  3. Sometimes life does get in the way of our quilting, but it makes those quiet moments to create even more special. Enjoy them while they are little as it doesn't last long.

  4. What WOnkY wonderfullness! Enjoy your children..summer will be over before you know it 🙂
