First I’ve gotten a few shipments of Fabrics!! WOO HOO
This is from fatquarter shop, I was thinking a dress out of these, but now that it’s colder, I don’t feel like it, I don’t know… they are PRETTY though!
and a shipment from ozark, reminded me to make teacher Christmas gifts.
This year my son is in 6th grade in middle school (though last year was middle school too but they had ONE teacher) now they moved around the school for the different subjects, so maybe that’s 5 teachers?? what should I made?? I’m thinking mug rugs- maybe some fun embroidery in the middle and the school fabric around it?? hmm ideas ideas.
My daughter only has one teacher in 3rd grade, so that’s easy enough
Speaking of Christmas, a while ago I bought this 12 days of christmas embroidery file on pixierule.com here
BEAUTIFUL embroidery! this is for the 5 x 7 hoop, you can buy smaller and larger! and they are just $1 !!!
I stitched out the first two and look at the puckering!! oh no!!
Then I tried to layer something else behind and did 2 layers of interfacing
Better, but not GREAT!
Then I started looking online and it’s SEW confusing, the difference between stabilizer AND interfacing, some embroideries need both! ARGH!!
I decided to sort mine, yeah right!! lots of this stuff didn’t have any labels
DOUBLE ARGH!!
Okay so I found some sulky stabilizer and ironed that to the back plus hooped with a thick interfacing I think
MUCH BETTER!! ahhhh – so I ordered more sulky stabilizer, one tear away one water soluble.
I also finished last week’s Women of the bible BOW : Dorcas/ tabitha who was a seamstress and she died and Jesus brought her back to life.
Last week Bonnie Hunter revealed the fabrics for the CELTIC Solstice mystery quilt!
Now seeing the colors I knew I didn’t want orange, first I don’t like orange and 2nd I don’t have much orange fabric, so I’m subbing it for red!
Now I really don’t have that much dark green either
So what if I did black instead?
now should I dub the black for the green, or move the blue into green’s spot and black instead of blue? I’m thinking I might do the latter. Either way I don’t think I can go wrong, I love all these colors!!
How can you NOT love the 3 primary colors and black and white?
I’m doing the “small” 75” version btw
Saw Bonnie post this too recently
Two weekends ago we went to Southern Supreme fruitcake factory. YUMMY! they had an open house and we got lots of free tastings and saw the factory, we won a small fruitcake and bought other chocolates!
What has Sonja been up to?
She got my own bag and I put orange bear in it and tied the bag behind her neck and she loved carrying him around
And crawling into drawers!
Also found this one online the other day.
I’m Buxom Liner!

I had to LOL at the "Life/Lemons" poster. I think that is how my MIL feels now every time her physical therapists come to get her up and put her through therapy.Sonja is her usual cute self! : )
I will probably be subbing some colors too Bea! I don't think I can just "not" do the mystery, but it will be the small version and I'll change out some colors I think :*) Like your ideas for colors!!! That Miss Sonja is just so darn cute!!!
