What do snow and pineapples have in common?
They are used in this quilt I made for Accuquilt’s blog!
Here’s how it first started- in EQ8 of course! I combined the pineapple block with an alternate star block
Then I picked out fabrics for it;
it ended up being 1 1/8yd snowflake print, 3/4yd of one light blue, 1/4yd of another light blue and 1/2yd of white.
(When I printed out the sketch I had the blocks at 12″ instead of 10″ so the Fin. size is 38″ x 38″ instead)
to make this I needed the 10″ Fin. Pineapple die, then a few dies from the 10″ QUBE and 5″ QUBE set!
Then I cut everything out (more details’s on Accuquilt’s blog post)
The blocks went together very quickly! (I really LOVE the pineapple die, it’s GREAT for scraps!!)
Then I sewed them together and added borders, easy peasy!
I quilted it with a snowflake design in white thread.
and as always, I used scraps from the front to make the backing 🙂
this quilt is going to Texas, as a friend from church moved there recently and they just had a baby mid December.
