Tutorial Tuesday- Easter Table Runner

beaquiltersEQ7tutorialtuesday

Since it’s a few days before Easter, I wanted to create a fun little Easter table runner in EQ.

Easter daffodils

First start a new file and name it Easter, then do the layout 1 x 1 blocks and have the block be 9” tall by 12” wide

Don’t worry about the borders just yet.

On layer 2 you may not have SET applique TEXT, but click the little arrow at the button of the right buttons to add buttons and you’ll find it there

image

then click on the applique text tool and select your font, a bold font is best

image

I centered the text and wrote Happy Easter

image

Then click the border tab and change the borders to JUST 9” on the left and right and 0 on the top and bottom

image

Now find a daffodil block under Libraries/block library, then under 03 foundation pieced and flowers

image

Add these to the side blocks

image

Now use the flip block button the right bar and flip the right block

image

I also colored in the background behind the letters with the same green and the daffodil blocks

image

Then add a 1” border and 3” border all the way around and use the SET BORDER button on the right

image

I liked this checked corner one, as it will multiply by 3” well

image

Then I colored it to match the blocks

image

and if you use the random recolor tool and match to fabrics, you can see it with ONE click

image

and VOILA!

image

If you export the image and uncheck the outline blocks and patches

you’ll get this!
