I don’t know if it’s because it’s winter time or this time of my life or what or just the new year.
I felt like digging into old projects and trying to finish them up!
Here’s the EPP Americana project I’ve been working on for a while, I finished sewing it o the backing piece and trimmed away the bulk underneath, then I added the blue border and it’s now ready for quilting.
It’s 38”x38”
Now another hand sewing project is this giraffe quilt, I finished the dots of also the antennas or whatever they are called on the giraffe (not shown yet) on the baby giraffe, all Mama giraffe needs now are two butterflies as accessories! then the borders!
Now just as I’m trying to finish up things, I of course got another shipment of fabrics from connecting threads. I really liked this black and white FQ bundle and used it in a project for Accuquilt’s blog- wait and see, then this layer cake made it into the basket too to get free shipping and if I spent over $50 I got a free wall calendar.
Now the layer cake I don’t have a plan for…yet
any of you have a favorite pattern for a layer cake?? (don’t know if it’s a full layer cake but the pieces are 10” so I can always modify the pattern)
Tomorrow I’m flying to Denmark for Egon’s funeral and to be with my mom, I’ll be back Monday night. This time I’m flying over Newark- NOT doing Chicago again! I haven’t been to Newark airport since around the time I moved to the US.
Maybe we’ll watch some olympics!? I know with the winter olympics I always get excited when little Denmark wins some medals.
Those are great projects Bea, I hope you have a safe trip and get home soon.
I love love love the giraffes! are you taking any sewing with you on your trip?
stay safe , i know your mother needs you
Nice work on finishing up some projects. Do have a safe flight – your mother will be comforted by your presence. I hope you do get the time to see Denmark win a few medals!
Your giraffe quilt is stunning. x
Nice UFO work happening! Love-love-love both the giraffes and the Americana quilt.
Love those Giraffe's. Be glad you didn't go thru Chicago, since we just got 10+ inches of snow, and it's still snowing (thru the whole weekend).
