Tree skirt top is done and a few wonky blocks

After ripping out the 4 seams, I DID finish the top for the tree skirt yesterday.

I like the fabrics, but they are so close in value, they wash together… hmm

I’ll still finish it though- one day.

Yesterday, a friend came to borrow my long arm and she quilted her quilt all by herself for the first time, it turned out great! she pieced the middle part of the quilt (jelly roll race) and her HUSBAND did the border and the demoyne stars in the corners- he’s also the one who often picks the fabrics for their quilts, and they are our disney vacation reps!! ohhh I SO want to go back to disney, maybe when Sonja is about a year old- so next fall!

And look who finally got some curtains up!

Yes- they are wrinkled but I’m a little scared to iron them, it says low iron, but has that black out cloth on the back which is kind of plastic-y…. I think I’ll wait a few days and see if gravity helps.

It had been sounding like a broken record to my husband about these curtains, what helped was me telling him I’m willing to sleep up there now, because he hasn’t been able to sleep in our bed when Sonja is there too.

She seems to like her bed- first time sleeping in it.

and here’s “my” bed, a black leather futon type couch, we moved back into the room, it doesn’t really fit, but it works for now.

I was able to make these wonky blocks for the swap I’m part of for September.

And… what’s this shirt doing here? well remember I told you I’m working on a quilt for McCall’s again (#3) well this shirt was my inspiration…. that’s all I’m going to say

I was also able to download the sunshine fabrics into EQ and play with the “women of the bible” blocks and change the layout. There’s 53 blocks, but I think there might be some bonus blocks otherwise I’ll duplicate some. This sketch is just an idea and I didn’t download the matching blender fabrics that are coming too, but it has a neat look! (don’t have a plan for a border yet)

  1. Pat from Florida

I like you setting for WOB. I'll be eager to follow along as you progress.

  2. The tree is skirt if pretty–even if the individual fabrics don't stand out.Do you have a steamer? That might help the curtains, but time will, too. I hung some curtains in my family room–just to see if they fit. I was always planning on taking them down to press, but it never happened–and the wrinkles are gone. : )

  3. Petit Design Co.

you could try spritzing the curtains with water and tumbling them on super low in the dryer
