tree quilt top, goodies and nativity panel for customer

I didn’t post yesterday, so I figured I’d post today!

Yesterday I finished the top for the 4 seasons quilt, I’ve been toying with the idea of doing applique on the border, spring summer fall winter etc, but I think I’ll leave it blank, what do you think?

while I was sewing I ate the last 2 of these!! yummy caramel delights girl scout cookies, if you are non-american or haven’t tried these you are missing out….. drooool.

this morning I quilted my neighbors nativity panel, she game me 3 to do and wants them back before christmas, but I figured I’d do at least one now.

the backing on this one was really cute

And look what the kids and I did ( mostly me)

we bought this caramel apple kit at food lion and my son had been begging me to do it, so finally I did. the kit calls for 10 apples, but there’s no way we could eat all those, so I prepped 4 apples, a tub of strawberries and dipped those

then drizzled some over popcorn from last night that the kids didn’t eat and the rest of the caramel got mixed with oatmeal and almonds…. yummy!

this is the sticky pot that’s left, it will be a bear to clean, so who is going to clean it for me? or at least help?

yup! peanut!! he actually pushed it to the grass and after watching him for at least 10 min, he was still licking, so I went upstairs 🙂

I also started quilting the jelly roll quilt, just doing leaves sideways in rows and a corner to corner curve on the black squares. I have pieced this NICE michael miller brown floral fabric as backing, I had bought several yards of it over a year ago at Mary Jo’s for a one-block wonder quilt, but then decided not to do it with that fabric, I wanted to keep it for something special, but when I do that, I never end up using the fabrics, that “special” thing has come and gone several times. so I used it for backing and binding. and I have more left over, so that something special just has to be smaller now!

All of your pieces are lovely….the first one; if you put anything in the border, I think make it small…not to take away from the center….what do you think? The food is to die for!!

  2. I like the borders blank – sort of reflects the centre. If you wanted to do something in the borders though, I think small would be ok. My less than 2 cents worth :0).

  3. Your dishwasher is soo cute!! I think your 4 Seasons quilt would look good with something in the center maybe a bigger tree? Your jelly roll quilt looks great! I was telling a couple people about adding squares that pop into the mile a minute!

I love the simplicity of the 4 seasons quilt. It is so reflective of how nature is sometimes the most uncomplicated part of our lives.

Love the Samoa's (Girl Scout Cookies) and your quilting is beautiful!
