Today is Sonja’s 6th birthday!
I remember that about a month of so before my due date with her, she doctor’s told me she was breech (sitting on my bladder!!) and that they wouldn’t turn her externally because of the previous C-section with Bjorn, so I looked up anything online I could find and tried them! Hand stands in the pool, a flash light or music low on my belly, me lying almost upside down, nothing worked, she was just sitting there!
My original due date was Bjorn’s 10th birthday (8/21/12) but as the day approached, I grew more and more uncomfortable and I think they didn’t want to risk me going into labor like that, so I went to a checkup and then they called later that day and said to come in the next day for a C-section!
-preparing mentally for a month or 6weeks for a C-section was much easier than having an emergency C-section!
Now she’s my “little clone” she’s blonde and had blue eyes for 4 years now they are green, but she looks just like me, and she’s stubborn and know what she wants (NO IDEA who she has that from!!)
She is very smart and wants to be just like her big sister Solveig, it’s hard when she’s 8yrs older! She’s the middle girl too so maybe that’s tough??
She doesn’t really play with Anja (yet) maybe that’s because Anja can’t really play together yet, except that she wants to do what Sonja does, so….
Even though she’s the middle one, we still love her just the same as the others!!
I forgot to show that her and I made Frozen pillows before my friends came from Denmark, we made a pillow for Sonja and one for Nanna (Camilla’s daughter)
and we can’t forget about Swiffer, even though he’s Solveig’s cat, Sonja just loves him and carries him around and snuggles with him a lot, and he seems to like it too, he purrs
Friday we had a couple from church over for dinner and I decided to make Sonja a cake too and have a small party sort of, we’re just doing family stuff today, no big party- just can’t do that with 4 kids!
I’ve seen Sonja play/watch this Japanese cat called Pusheen, so I made a cake to look like it and she requested a strawberry cake! (I also added strawberries in the cake with jelly and pudding between the layers and cream cheese frosting!
She did say she didn’t want presents until today, but I still gave her ONE (a pusheen stuffie- to match the cake)
That night and Saturday, she got a high fever though, so good thing we didn’t do a big party and had to cancel that!
-Hope our guests didn’t catch the bug.
well happy birthday to my smart, beautiful little girl SONJA!!
Happy Birthday Sonja! She does look just like you and her cake is just adorable!
Happy Birthday to your little clone!! Now to make her into a quilter to help you;)
Happy Birthday to Sonja. Wow! she really does look like you.
Happy birthday, Sonja!! She really does look just like you Bea. My granddaughter's eyes were crystal sky blue until she was around 4-5. Now she's 9 and they are hazel, which is quite striking with her being blond! Her dad's eyes are hazel too. One of the twins has eyes like hers were. They are six now and so far they've stayed piercing blue! The other has beautiful blue eyes, but different than his brother's. Personally, I think babies by appointment are the best way to have them! LOL I had an emergency C-section with my daughter due to her being breach, then she had a C-section with Madelyn for the same reason, but they boys decided to come 5 weeks early (twins CAN be trouble LOL!) so they knew they would be by C-section. So thankful it's not like it used to be!Enjoy your sweet baby girl! They grow up WAY too fast!
Happy Birthday! We had some parties, but, not those expensive ones at some place. We'd do hot dogs in the back yard, with water guns and such.
