I started this scrappy quilt in May
based off of this sketch I did in EQ, a simple Diamond in a star block and a Colorado block
I made the blocks using the 6″ QUBE set and lots of scraps in teal/turquoise and grey, then solid white and solid blue
Here’s some progress on the blocks
I made two different blocks, the white background and the solid blue ties them all together
It’s a 6×8 layout so 24 of each block
I had to order some more turquoise and solid blue for the borders and binding
and I didn’t have any large chunks of fabric in blues so I waited until now to do the backing which ended up being sort of scrappy anyways!
I quilted a meandering design in QCT5 (not that I couldn’t easily do it myself, but it’s just fun to set it and “forget” it)
It’s quilted in a pale teal/turquoise thread
When I added the binding I decided to have blue thread in the bobbin and teal/turquoise on the top.
I sew the binding onto the top first, then flip over and sew from the back on the edge so the bobbin is visible on the top of the quilt and it’s sort of in the ditch.
The quilt measures 44″ x 54″
Would you want this turned into a pattern?
These are great colors together.
