I can finally show the “secret” T-shirt quilt!
Ning graduation yesterday and after that we met for lunch with her family from Singapore and I gave her the quilt
(She in turn gave me a BIG gift card to JoAnn’s WOOHOO! you know I’ll use that quickly! ha ha)
Here’s the shirt segments being sewn into rows
and finally into a top
There are some FUNNY and cool shirts in this!
Here the quilt is all done. Quilted and bound.
I did a big meandering all over
Backing is a solid grey
Joshua 1:9 (my embroidery machine can’t do a : sign)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
The geese in a ring quilt is done too and I LOVE how it turned out
I started quilting the borders and in the white border I quilted pebbles then continued that on the white background, I LOVE it!
It didn’t take THAT long since the quilt is only 46” squared, but I don’t think I would do it on a large quilt.
On the border and the setting triangles I did McTavishing- my first try, I like doing it! it was fun!
Here’s the back with a hanging sleeve already- just missing a label.
and some close ups
Saturday evening I made a dress for Sonja
simplicity 4661 an old pattern I had from when my other daughter was little
Here are the Lee women
all ready for church and then lunch with Ning’s family
( I made Solveig’s dress too a year or two ago)
Ahhhh #22

I love how the Geese In A Ring turned out–nice McTavishing!Cute little girls in their Mommy-made dresses. I used to sew all of my daughters' clothing, but that seems like a hundred years ago now. : )
The t-shirt quilt looks great. How nice that she gave you a gift certificate. I love the geese in a ring quilt and your quilting is always stunning. Your girls are darling in their dresses. Such pretty girls. I always smile when you show pics of Sonja. She seems like such a happy little girl.
Your work just amazes me!!!
Really, really nice. The lee family gals are just stunning.
