Storm at sea table runner

A while ago I was playing in EQ8 and thought about some new yardage I had and that I hadn’t used the storm at sea die since it was released by Accuquilt (I designed and made the grey and pink quilt they show with the die- might be the cover pattern too, can’t remember)

So why not make a small table runner? It also had to match the yardage I had on hand, I am guessing I had a yard of each of two reds, the floral in here uses 3/4yd approx.

Here’s my notes- I am showing shape numbers from the die

Red:

3 of shape F

12 of shape C

Ladybug print:

12 of shape A

48 of shape E

12 of shape H

border 2 1/2″ (Cut 3 WOF strips)

White:

48 of shape B

48 of shape D

12 of shape G

border 1 1/2″ cut 3 WOF strips

So I set to work!

Here’s all the shapes cut out

And the block pieces go together beautifully with the dog ears cut off!

And here’s the blocks sewn together

and the top done measuring 18″ x 42″

And here it is all quilted and bound and since the print has hearts in it, I quilted a chain of hearts allover it from the QCT5 library

a fun little runner 🙂

and less than 1yd of 3 fabrics!
