If you get McCall’s quick quilts, you might already have seen my quilt!?
It’s in the Oct/Nov issue
A super simple and yet fun tumbler quilt made with SPLASH batiks from Island Batik
I used the accquilt 3 1/2” tumbler die to cut out all the shapes, which was a snap! Then I arranged them into sets of two and set them in rows but moved one to the left.
Now my original quilt idea was smaller and with “old” batiks, but since McCall’s wanted it bigger we switched lines to a NEW line and I made a new version.
Here’s my old version.
Still cool but I do love the splash version better and it just shows that there can easily be SEW many cool versions!
I often have an easy method of doing rows.
Starting at the top I do one and one together and then iron (usually have a leader and ender project going too)
Then stick it back on the wall, then do those two and two together and 2nd row is one and one. Then iron.
then starting again top row is 4 and 4,
2nd is 2 and 2
3rd is 1 and 1
You get the idea, this way you really can’t mess up!

Love the colors in your magazine quilt.
Beautiful tumbler quilt and I love the colors!
Splash definitely adds a zing to things. Love it!
Bea ~ I LOVE this quilt and will admit the brighter colors catch my eye a little more. What's funny is that I did not realize it was made using tumblers until the bottom of your post when I saw the bag full of them for your giveaway. Shows ya how observant I am right? LOLI actually have that die, but I don't have a subscription to that magazine. I do have one to the McCall's Quilt, but not the Quick Quilt. PS ~ I'm sorry for not replying to your email. I will hopefully get to that this weekend.
Congrats on having your beautiful quilt in the McCall's Quick Quilt Magazine.
Your tumbler quilt turned out gorgeous.
Bea, great quilt! I've never tried a Tumbler quilt before. Might have to be on my 'bucket list' 🙂
