spiderweb quilt

I started doing the spiderweb quilt, but now I don’t know what I’m going to do

I’m using the tutorial here but printed my templates from EQ

Thanks Christine for sending me the link

so I decided on a solid light green for the middle and then cut out lots of BLUE strings.

Here was my thought for just a gree middle and blue strings, but I don’t know if it’s kind of BLA?!

though my blue strings are more FUN vs the EQ ones

Or what if I did alternate blue and green strings? now my strings are all different widths to when the blocks are sewn together blues may touch green on the other half of the block, I’m leaning toward this one

Or should I go more “planned” in colors, blue, red, yellow, green, again my strings are not the same width, so they will look differently. hmm

what do you think??

I’m going to load a quilt to long arm quilt, so I can get my mind off of this and leave the mess on the table 🙂

  1. My vote would be the scrappy blues and greens, based on the EQ layouts. Love the spider web pattern. I always tell myself I will make one someday. : )

  2. I love it… The first EQ pix is my favorite. Thank you for the shout out. 🙂

  3. I like the first two options. For myself, I would go with the mixed blue and green strings, I like it the best.

  4. I like the scrappy blues or the scrappy blue + green better than the more planned version. I'm also wondering what it would look like using a green print or blender for the inner boarder and keeping the blue on the outside? Also: I updated the tutorial to include a printable cutting template so those who use it in the future won't have to make their own.

  5. I like number 3 the best because it has more punch, but then I am also known to like bling.
