Something smells Fishy

Ha Ha, I don’t know if something smells fishy here.

It sure does in this country!

Anyways, “something fishy” was a fun topic from Carol

I had different ideas, some applique, something small, some embroidery…. it wasn’t until I got the Flying Fish die from Accuquilt, that I decided to use that for my challenge.

Then I looked in EQ (as I have a design with this die that they will show LATER) but one of their “rejects” would work for this challenge.

I cute and simple and modern baby quilt in black and grey and white with a bit of pink!

I really thought I had taken a picture of the fabrics and the die and cutting, but I didn’t- or it disappeared….

The blocks are easy to sew together, simple squares and triangles and chisels

It was fun to have just one block in pink!

Then I sewed the blocks together into sets of 2 and kept going

And soon the top was done then it was time for the border

Adding a skinny pink and then the solid grey outer border, really makes this pop!

The top measures 34″ x 38 1/2″

I managed to quilt it in time too!

And I thought having the pink fabric as binding would be fitting 🙂

I think the peeking cat is just a fun detail

Thanks to Carol for hosting, please hop around to the other participants and get inspired 🙂

  1. You’ve got a lot of fishy going on in this fun quilt! How perfect to put a pink kitty face near the middle to make all of those fish nervous! Very clever!

  2. The peeking cat is an adorable addition to this pretty quilt. It’s very fish with that Accuquilt die! So fun! Thanks for jumping off the boat to share your fishy quilt!

  3. This is a lovely quilt and will be a great, if a little fishy, hug for a child. Great job.
