I got to use some LOVELY batiks from Island Batiks and I used my GO! cutter, since it’s the 15th, I’m combining it with my GO Challenge 
I got a bundle of Crimson Tide from Island Batiks, these lovely purples and a pop of red!
I decided to use my GO! cutter and the hunter star die.

Then I went into EQ7 and designed a quilt to match the yardage.
This was my basic design idea.
So I started cutting, I tried to cut narrow strips for the red, since it would not repeat on other parts of the block. Then cut the purples out too, I decided on just TWO purples for the main blocks.
Here’s one block sewn together
In the middle of the block I ironed the seams open.
Here was one idea before sewing 4 together, but I liked the star in the middle instead.
Here’s the top together, I used a different purple for the sashing, then a 4th dark purple for the skinny borders and the most vibrant purple for the outer border.
Here’s the quilt all done and quilted and bound, I didn’t have enough of the dark purple fabric for binding, which would have been my first choice, but instead I had another purple from the bundle that I just used for the binding, it matches the outer border a lot, so it still works out
Here’s a close up of some of the quilting, I wanted to do something sort of custom for the quilt and the stars, so I did loops inside the starts and points of stars in the corners, then curves from corner to corner on the blocks. a bubble loopy design on the sashing (hard to see), bubbles on the skinny borders, straight line/logs on the red border and a leaf vine on the outer border
Here’s a picture of the back, I’ve been getting into the habit of making a hanging sleeve and attaching it with the binding on all my quilts, I had a big piece of purple fabric for the back but added left over batiks in the middle to make it wide enough.

Hunter Star has always been one of my favorite patterns. Your quilting looks beautiful on it too.

I did a whole batik queen size quilt last year (2014) and it is now on my parent's bed. They loved it and I was pleased how it turned out!

I've never made a project using completely batiks. They are gorgeous and often batiks just appear whenever the color and the look is right. I do love using them for paper-piecing so I don't have to worry about right side/wrong side. 🙂 Beautiful quilt and I loved seeing the back of the quilt – grand stitching.

I made a Christmas wreath wall hanging with batik. It was a fun way to get a realistic greenery effect.
I just finished a sampler top in all batiks! It's my first time working with them and they are beautiful! It has almost every color and its HUGE! I love your quilt, the colors are beautiful and I really love how you did the quilting. I definitely aspire to quilt like this in the next few years. I'm only a year in and a long way to go! I used batiks in a tote bag with Carol Doak's paper pieced stars. It is very pretty and I am in love with batiks! Your quilt colors are so vibrant which is a great thing about batiks!

I have a circles and geometric batik quilt in progress. I guess you would say that it is currently a UFO. It started out as my version of the Yellow Brick Road pattern, but then I decided to add other blocks.

I haven't used a lot of batiks, but one of my favorite quilts that a friend and I made long before I made quilts on a regular basis is 10" squares of batiks. It brightens my day.

My latest project using Batiks, was a tote bag that had been sitting cut out for a few years. I am glad I finally finished it, as it has now become my "guild" bag that I take to my meetings. Thanks for the draw.

the last batik pyoject I did was Carol Doak's Rays of hope that I enlarged 1 block into a 20 inch block.
