So Wicked Blog hop

It’s my turn to showcase something “wicked”

As you may know, I’m not a huge Halloween fan, but I did let my kids carve a pumpkin this year and we’ll go trick or treating too in our neighborhood.

For this blog hop, I wasn’t sure what to do, then I remembered I had the spider web die from Accuquilt

And I had an idea from EQ

I picked out some green and brown solid and a mottled purple- these are colors I rarely work with, so I worked with what I had. Usually I do scrappy spider web blocks but this time I wanted to use yardage, and by using solids I could fan fold and not worry about right or wrong side up!

Then I started sewing

all the half blocks are the same

Then I sewed them together into blocks

Then I sewed the blocks together and added borders, the top is 33″ x 39″

I didn’t get around to quilting it, but here’s some other spider web quilts I’ve made with this die

If you want to see more wicked items made for this hop, have a look at the list below and thanks again to Carol for hosting this! I’ll miss doing these hops next year!! (I’ll still host at least one)

  1. Spiderweb quilts are so fun! Maybe the die cuts would make it easier to make them, but I don’t have an Accuquilt machine or dies. Nice quilts!

  2. Oh how fun. Spider is one of my little guys favorite words right now. I’m surprised you have been able to get anything done with everything that has happened in your life recently. I hope things starting to settle down for you and your family. Hugs my friend.

  3. I agree with Joan that I don’t know how you’ve managed to get so much done. I hope things are getting better for you and your family. That spider web die cut makes an awesome quilt! I love how different it looks in the variety of fabrics. Great job on this, Bea! xo

  4. I love your Halloween spider web. It always amazes me how different a block can look when done in different colors. In a couple of your pieces I actually had to hunt down the spider web. Great work.

  5. Thank you for sharing your spider web quilts! I like how the different fabrics change the look, even though the designs are identical.
