If you’ve follow my blog for a while, you might remember these blocks from last year or two years ago for the RSC rainbow blocks of the month and I made 10 of them and put them aside, then I forgot about them and wasn’t sure if I wanted to make just 12 or something else, then as I was sorting my project bins lately I decided I needed a secondary block and since they have a modern feel already, I decided on just plain solid white blocks!
I cut out the blocks with the 6″ QUBE set btwAfter adding the white squares (8″ cut btw) I decided on a wide solid white border as well
When it came to quilting it, I was looking on pinterest and different books and I came up with this large meandering ribbon, it’s a fun design! Though maybe I should have overlapped in a few places? I don’t know, I’ll try this again another time and overlap then 🙂
Here’s a close up
For the backing I had this antique looking white and blue fabric that was a perfect size, kind of funny to have the contrast of old and modern! It finished 36″ x 44″
Beautiful finish on this quilt–I love the backing, too hugs, Julierose
thanks, I work with what I have and I didn’t want to use more solid white on the back, so why not 😉
Darling! so happy and colorful. Love the simplicity of the quilt and the quilting design.
thanks!
The ribbon quilting is very modern and suits the quilt! I’m not sure about the crossing idea.
You mean overlapping? yeah I’m not sure how it will launder though.
This looks great, and I love the print on the back!!!! The meander ribbons quilting is really nice; I don’t think I’ve seen that before.
thanks, it was fun to try
It looks great. That quilting motif is interesting.
