Sewing while it’s snowing

Most of the country got all this snow this week, we got maybe 1” on Wednesday ( or rather late Tuesday) the school was dismissing at 10am on Tuesday- what a joke, I kept the kids at home instead.

Wednesday everything was closed, then we started betting about Thursday the kids and my husband said Thursday would be a delay, I said closed and we got the got and I WON the bet…..

Then last night we got a call about 3hr delay today but that it might change depending on the DOT and they would let us know this morning at 7.30am

well, at 10pm last night we got the call that school was closed AGAIN.

this week I’ve worked on a customer’s quilt, and RIGHT at the end I ran out of bobbin thread, I had maybe 3 loops of feathers to do before finishing, isn’t that TYPICAL!!

I won’t show the rest just yet, as it’s packed up and ready to ship out, I want it to be a surprise for her Winking smile

This weeks Woman of the bible was Sarah, I made the block and showed it to a friend yesterday, then while looking at it, I got this idea to make these blocks MINI!!! about 3”.

CALL ME CRAZY!!

-and I may want to kick myself once we get to some harder blocks, but I don’t mind modifying some.

  1. They are cute, just as you said. Way too small for me, but cute. =) Love the super bowl cartoon at the bottom. Cold here, too, but we were only closed the snow day and day after, and we had six inches. Today will almost be warm!

  2. Really cute blocks. I've done 6"but not gone smaller. Best of luck for the rest xxx

  3. What a cute picture of the kids playing in the snow. Great blocks Bea and the peek at the quilt is beautiful!

Bea…..can't wait to see the quilt, the little I can see is beautiful!

They look great… 🙂 You are so creative.Remember when we get to the curved blocks, you can always make them as applique also. That might help a little.

  6. Love your mini blocks. Come on over Bea. Tomorrow we're supposed to get 5-8" of snow and the same again on Tuesday. Running out of room to put the snow. I already have 3 1/2 feet of snow piles all along my driveway.

The blocks are cute…and you are crazy! LOL! Can't wait to see both of them done…. how cute to have a full size and a mini!

  8. Now I'm going to pester you to start a precision piecing series. Beautiful pieces, but those miniatures are amazing. Intimidating to me, but I'd so like to be able to stitch them perfectly. Definitely need tips and much help and practice in this area.SewCalGalwww.sewcalgal.blogspot.com
