I mentioned yesterday that I was finishing up some rainbow color of the month blocks, and I had 20 of the flying geese blocks (I think they are called Dutchman’s puzzle?!)
Since soscrappy didn’t do any colors for November and December, those were meant to be catch up months or add whatever color you want months! But with these blocks I made 2 blocks each month, so ending up with 20 blocks was a good number!
These were all made with the 8” QUBE set btw and the color of the month is the geese and then I used a printed white background, as I have my white scraps separated into solid whites, white on white, beige and white prints, the print ones are just odd and sometimes WILD, so I figured they’d be fun to use!
I sewed them into a top
Then I added a border that at first I meant for an inner border, but then as I looked at it more, I just decided I was DONE!
It measures 36” x 44” so that’s a nice lap sized donation quilt.
I long arm quilted corner to corner on the blocks in white and then a loopy design on the border, usually the loopy design is a ribbon, but this time I didn’t turn before the edge, so it’s more just blobs coming in from the edges.
Also I did scrappy binding! AND I used a variegated thread to sew that on!
This quilt will go in the donation pile, glad to have it done
