Scrappy cute pink pineapple Accuquilt baby quilt

It’s Featured Die Thursday

This week I’m showing one of my favorite Accuquilt dies that I often use for scraps!

The pineapple die!

I love playing with this die, the pieces are small and you can make SO many different combinations of quilts with it!

It can be two colors, 3 or 4 colors, scrappy etc.

I made this pink and turquoise quilt

The fun part about this scrappy quilt, is that I had no rules for the pink nor the turquoise, so the pink could be pale, light or dark pink and the turquoise could range from teal to turquoise.

It’s SEW much fun to cut out the pieces and with the die it’s EASY and fast!

Normally pineapple quilt blocks are foundation paper pieced but with the die, you just cut a bunch and everything lines up perfectly when you sew all the pieces together!

I used the jungle FQ club turquoise print for the center squares and then a pink leaf print also from the FQ club, as the corner triangles and outer borders.

The plaid teal was an extra fabric I had for the FQ club too, so I used that up too 🙂

The quilt measures 38″ x 48″

Here’s several other quilts I’ve made with the pineapple die

This one I did light blue, dark blue, red and solid grey and I turned every other block 90 degrees

Here I used the same jungle turquoise fabric and combined it with another die (the star and cross die)

Here I made a wintry version and combined it with the 5″ and 10″ QUBE set

Here’s a grey and yellow scrappy version, similar to my pink and turquoise one

Here’s another scrappy version but I “accidentally” added an extra round so the blocks look more round and chunky and the center square is on point.

Here is a turquoise, dark blue and grey scrappy version and I had the dark blue pieces go side to side and the turquoise go up and down

Here’s another pink and green scrappy version, I think I chose those colors because I picked the border fabric FIRST!

Here’s a “modern” grey and red and white solid pineapple table runner

Here’s a Yellow, beige, black and orange scrappy quilt, again I pulled the colors from the border fabric- I think they are from Samoa? and I had the black to up and down and the beige go side to side but it blends in with the yellow so the black stands out! almost looks like a real pineapple!

Here I did 1 scrappy color for each block WITH black

Here’s a blue batik one I made for Accuquilt, actually for their STUDIO cutter, so the blocks are bigger

And I think this one was for them too, each block has one color with black and then set on point, that gives the quilt a totally different look!

Another red, white and blue patriotic quilt- I seem to like the 3×4 block layout 🙂

And this scrappy version I also made for Accuquilt with black centers and corners and alternate white sections

And here’s a beige and red and blue version but the blocks are on point again and I used a QUBE set for the alternate blocks

And a light blue, dark blue scrappy version with pretty much no rules for what’s light or dark blue, it was whatever I had in the bins I think!

And here’s a scrappy orange and turquoise and beige version

As you can see, I LOVE the pineapple die and using it for scraps!
