Sacrifice: A Scrappy Quilt Pattern with Endless Color Possibilities

I have so many scrap patterns I really love in my shop, here’s another one

Sacrifice

Traditionally the Crown of Thorns Block uses a different color in the
middle parts of the block and the outer triangles are a lighter version,
here it’s all scrappy and fun, even the white is scrappy. The only parts not
scrappy in the quilt are the peach sashing strips and the outer border.

Finished sizes: 34” x 46”, 58” x 70”

Finished Block size: 10”

Quilt can be made with the 8” QUBE set by Accuquilt

The pattern comes in 2 sizes and can be made with the 8″ QUBE

I’ve made several quilts using this pattern, here’s a blue and grey and white version and the corner stone squares are actually a really dark green fabric

Then I made this super scrappy version where I had a rule for light and dark and that rule was really depending on what two fabrics I put together, so one fabric might be considered dark if paired with a pale fabric but then be considered light if paired with a really dark fabric, that was a lot of fun! I then used a dark green for the sashing and a white dotted fabric for the border, notice the scrappy binding too!!

Here’s some more color ideas from EQ8

A Blue and white and grey, made NOT with scraps, but the fabrics from my FQ club

Then a cute girly version in all pinks and white

A Boy version in green and turquoise

How about a manly version in brown and beige

and a patriotic version in red, white and blue

And this fun Bee version in turquoise, white, black and white

and this snowy version in pale blue and white and grey

The combinations are endless and SACRIFICE is another easy pattern that you can mindlessly sew on while making another quilt, lots of Half square triangles and squares!
