The RSC16 Color of the month was either pale purple or grey.
since I already did purple and used all shades, grey was a good one to do.
I kind of started in reverse of how I normally do the blocks, here I started with the appliqued blocks.
A solid colored school house ended up being very pale grey, but I think it’s kind of fun!
I also hadn’t stitched down quite a few of them, so now they are all caught up.
then a grey owl, I tried to do a lighter body so it would stand out.
and 8 of them together.
Then a fleur-de-lis block and here I used a dark grey on top of the light grey.
and also 8 together. it’s funny that some are so bold and busy and some are solid or mottled, don’t know if I like that or maybe I just need to make MORE blocks of each color, we’ll see at the end.
then a grey cupcake, I thought this top fabric was fun.
and 8 together, here I think I should make more too! we’ll see.
Have you started your grey blocks or are you doing the pale purple?
So many beautiful blocks you've made. I will find my sewing machine tomorrow to make some blocks, too. Just now I'm doing hexies and nothing more.
Maybe I should have dug out the gray, too! I went with more PURPLE and haven't gotten very far. Your gray blocks look very pretty.
Your groups are coming right along. I love the Owls with their roaming eyes, so cute. I think the grey fleur de list is the most regal one, very stately. But I'm sorry, I would not be able to eat a gray cupcake, or even a purple one. Maybe if you covered it with colored sprinkles it would appear more appetizing. Just joking, I think you are so clever doing all those different blocks. Keep up the good work!
A great collection of blocks, my favourites have to be the owls and cupcakes!
