It’s time for Block G for the rising Star QAL
This block is a full sized block so 8″ if you’re using the 8″ QUBE set and there’s 4 blocks total.
Here’s what you need for this block
A White: 16 of shape #4 triangles and 16 of shape #5 triangles
D Black: 32 of shape #5 triangles
E Light Blue: 32 of shape #5 triangles
F Dark Blue: 16 of shape #5 triangles
Since I goofed up and made double the sets of block D, I had to rip out a lot of seams and I wanted to show this nifty seam ripper I have, it has a funky rubber cap on it, but that’s designed to rub lightly on the fabric to remove those tiny threads from previous stitching! It’s my favorite ripper 🙂
Now sew the HSTs and flying geese together following the pattern and it’s important to press the seams OPEN!
The center of the block has a pinwheel and with the seams pressed open, it doesn’t get as bulky, you can’t avoid bulk there but it helps with the seams open!
Here are the finished 4 blocks in each size I’m making.
The pattern is “Rising Star” and you can get it here in my shop.
Have fun!!
