Review of True Sharp rotary blade cutter

About a month ago I ordered this TrueCut True Sharp rotary blade cutter on Amazon here

It sat on the shelf for a few weeks until I finally felt like my blade was getting really dull, so I plugged it in and it went “pffft” oh, oh! sure enough, it didn’t work, it shorted out when I had plugged it in, so I called the 800# on the package (Grace and Company) and I must say, it was GREAT customer service, right away she apologized and said she’d send out a new one and add some more diamond stones to be inside (for replacing later) and I got it within a few days. I think I called on a Wednesday and got it Monday, so that was fast!

So the 2nd time I plugged it in, it didn’t say anything and I sighed a sigh of relief and tried it out.

First I had to oil the stones really well with the oil bottle that came with it (wonder if it’s regular sewing machine oil??)

I inserted the blade (it fits several sizes) and pressed the button for 30 sec

and VOILA! the blade was sharpened and it worked like a charm!!

I have a canister of maybe 5-6 OLD blades and several cutters with dull blades in them, so I’ll get plenty of use from this one.

I think it was well worth the investment, I’ll use it for years and not wait until blades are REALLY dull to replace them/sharpen them.

Every time I’ve waited SO long to replace the blade and then when I did, I always wondered why I waited SO long as it would cut like butter again.

I’m happy with my purchase and VERY happy about the customer service!

Do you have one? comment below if you do and if you like it?

i had wondered if they were any good , guess i will have to get me one, I hate buying blades all the time

I was wondering if they worked. I had been wanting to get one and like you I have years worth of blades I've been saving for when the day came that there would be a good sharpener. Maybe that day is here…. Yeah!

  3. I think a lot of us do not change the blade as often as we should, like you I changed mine the other day and was amazed at the difference.

Thanks for the review, good to know. I always leave my blades way too long before I change them too

  5. I just replaced a blade and was shocked at how nice it cut. Apparently I wait way too long before I change them out! LOL. I got a sharpener for my birthday last year, but shame on me…I haven't even plugged it in yet. Should have kept that old blade instead of tossing it! Duh!

  6. Thanks for sharing this. I've been wanting to purchase one but hadn't heard anything about if it was worth the price. Will be getting one now!

Great review Bea, I don't have one but now I'm interested in getting one as I go through a lot of blades.

  8. I, also, wondered if it was any good at sharpening. So, thanks for letting us know about the product & the customer service!

  9. I'm happy to read this too. I've wondered about these sharpeners and many reviews I have read about other brands have not been good. This is going on my wish list.
