Last Friday I took the girls to the Raleigh (NC) Art Museum, I’ve never been there and it was really cool!
We first went into a building that shows different things, we liked the paper crane one!
And then we came to a quilt exhibit, some very cool quilts in there, several wholecloth quilts
And medallion quilts
Of course I can’t help but “take apart” the quilt and figure out if I have a die or a QUBE set that can make it, here it’s the carpenter star block which is an AQ die!
There were several sampler quilts too
I stopped reading the signs for the quilts after a while because they were political and conjecture, just comments about the makers and possible people, nothing proven in the quilt or from notes with the quilts, it really bothered me, I’d like to just see, who made and it when and where, unless there’s a significant story or note with it, but a lot of was just negative things about these Plantation owners back in the day.
The second building was more or Art History thru the ages, we didn’t really follow them in order
Anja and Solveig walked around together and Anja really liked the food ones!
And here’s Sonja’s Boyfriend. LOL. It’s a thing she’s been saying for a long time for fun, that George Washington is her boyfriend but too bad he died already.
I didn’t really care for the Modern art section, this thing reminded me of the DUNE book (and movie) though it’s not a person but the giant sandworms sort of looked like this person’s “head”
After that we walked outside and they had musical swings which were really cool.
