It’s time for another block for the Rainbow color of the month quilt along
this month it’s dark green!
We’re still using the 8″ QUBE (or whatever other QUBE set you want to use) but I only provide rotary cutting for the same sized blocks I’m making- 10″ Finished.
Pick 2 different dark green fabrics and the background white
with Green A cut out 8 of shape #4 quarter square triangles (5 1/4″ squares cut diagonally TWICE)
and cut 1 of #2 square (2 1/2″ square)
With green B cut 8 of the #4 quarter square triangles as well
With White cut 4 of shape #8 rectangles (2 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ rectangles)
-as you can see one of my green fabrics is very directional but it works out perfectly in this block!! and I fussy cut the square too!
Sew 4 sets of quarter square triangle blocks together, if using directional fabrics, pay attention to the placement and you’ll get 2 sets of 2 opposite blocks where Green A is top and bottom and 2 sets where Green A is on the sides.
Then sew the block together like this with the white rectangles and the center 2 1/2″ square, notice the opposite placement of the green QSTs 🙂
That’s it, easy peasy!
