I recently finished long arm quilting this quilt for a customer.
I quilted flowers and swirls all over it
here’s the back
She actually sent me a picture of the original quilt and then a picture of a pantograph that she liked, I don’t do pantos but I’ve done flowers and the pointy swirls lots of times, so I decided to put my own quilt on the frame first and play around, so I sent her this picture for approval
(Yes it’s the 2018 QAL quilt -10″ qube version)
but guess what happened!
I guess I had cut the batting so skinny and calculated it wrong that I then put the quilt on there the opposite way- no wonder I actually had 6″ of backing on the side!
so at the end I ran out of backing!! OOPSIE! It happens to the best of us I guess, I’ll see if I can trim the sides and use that for the bottom or not, otherwise I’ll just have to place another other with connecting threads!
Good thing the oops was on your quilt not the customers.
Bea, it’s beautiful as always! You know me and mistakes too so you know I’d been ok having one of your mistakes added to mine LOL!! Mistakes on a quilt I work hard on simply reminds me only Jesus, our Lord, is perfect! Thank you!!!
I did the same thing recently! Nothing like that sinking feeling when you realize it! So much more work! Good luck!!
