It’s time for a crazy blog hop!
When Joan on Mooosestashquilting announced this blog hop I signed up right away- I always love her blog hops and have followed her for years (and she has followed mine) – and who knew that we all NEEDED this funny HOP!!??
and then I forgot all about it….. then an email came in with a schedule and I couldn’t think of anything crazy or funny to make so I had to think about that for a while….. of course I always think of Accuquilt and then it HIT me!!
Accuquilt has this cute Emoji die!!!
It’s a limited die so if you want it, get it NOW!
I only used it once when I designed this quilt for Accuquilt and then the die got put on the shelf with all my other dies.
My first idea now was to make a pillow and I found a few pillow shapes I had in a bin, but then when I cut out the yellow circles I got another idea!
a pincushion!! (I host a pincushion too so I always look for fun pincushion patterns)
so I set to work, cutting black, light blue and red scraps and prepping them with fusible by the warm company called steam a seam2!
I had a sticky note with how many I needed of each and I laid them all on the die and put it thru my GO big in one pass and cut it all out
to copy my emoji from the quilt I did add two tear drops instead of one, so I played a bit with the layout and tried to account for the seam allowance on the edges
I then removed the paper backing and fused everything down
then I machine appliqued everything down, added a ribbon and sewed the two circles right sides together with an opening at the bottom for stuffing
and I stuffed it with fiber fill
the sad face just looks SO SAD!!!
It was a crazy and fun little thing to do!
Here’s the rest of the participants!
Thanks again to Joan for hosting!

I really love your new pincushions. They make me both laugh and cry. And they will come in handy for the next month’s swap. Can you guess what I made for this hop today?
Fun pincushions, thanks for sharing!
Neat pincushion! I like the double-sided aspect–can show your feelings that way. Thanks!
What a great idea. Definitely Qwazy. Each one cuter than the next.
What a fun pinny! It was even more fun to see the expressions change with the different angles as you stitched them. Thanks for making us laugh today!
This is so cute and funny…love it! Thanks for the smiles!
these are so cute. and your quilt is wonderful. put a smile on my face today. thanks. take care.
awwww so cute and funny at the same time. love the wall project also Bea… Thanks for making me smile this morning.
thanks! yeah that emoji is all of us this week, putting on a happy face but crying inside
Very cute, Bea. I love all the different emojis you can make with this die! Thanks for sharing.
Fun little pin cushion….
Cute pincushion! The sad face could also substitute as a little ice pack for little boo boos. I enjoyed you showing how versatile you could make the faces. I might have to check into acquiring an AccuQuilt. Thanks so much for the smiles today!
So cute! Thanks for sharing.
A super cute idea. So current with the times and so useful too!
Hi Bea! What a cute idea. What a fun idea for bringing a smile to everyone’s face. I think it did its job! Take care. ~smile~ Roseanne
What a cute emoji pin cushion!! Depending on how you are feeling, just have that side up and everyone will know!
Trendy & Fun wall hanging. Love it!
I was thinking this was a door pillow – indicating the mood of a child/teen! Fun idea!
Super fun idea! I love the quilt so much too!
Great idea, and just too cute!
What a fun idea to make a pincushion with the die! I love my Accuquilt cutter and was laughing thinking I need to add this die to my collection! Thanks for the giggle and the inspiration.
Cute pincushion. I was thinking hang it on the dishwasher. Happy dishes are clean, sad, dishes are dirty. LOL
A pincushion was perfectly laughable. A hanging one is the best and I’ve added hangers on the last two I’ve made recently. Accu-Cut sure made it go well.
The emojis make cute pincushions.
Thanks it was fun to make
