I have a quilt in this upcoming issue of Quiltmaker Nov/Dec 2016
It’s named Cotton Candy
I had named it Colorful birds but I’m not good with names
It’s made using the flying geese die from accuquilt, the one that comes with the GO BIG! and then cotton mottled mirage fabrics from connecting threads.
It was originally a sketch from EQ for the RSC16 challenge
And you’ve seen my progress on the scrappy blocks too!
I just finished the border on it this weekend!
(I moved the colors around a bit, but that was mostly because I wanted the pink Dora block to be right side up
So two completely different looks with the same layout idea, AND super simple to do!
Which one do you like better?
I like the published up but also think the scrappy one is just fun!
My favorite one is the published one, the solids seem to make the pattern stand out more.
I love the scrappy one, but I will always chose a scrappy quilt over one that is solid colored.
Congratulations on getting your design published! I think the solids work best for your pattern, but the scrappy one is delightful, too.
Woohoo, Bea! Congratulations! Such a fun looking quilt – I love both colorways.
Congratulations!! It is a beautiful quilt!
nice job that! And meeting all the time deadlines too. LeeAnna
Congrats! on be published in Quiltmaker. I like BOTH versions. The one in print appeals, but for me SCRAPPY sings!! I love how the pattern comes in and out of focus in that version.
Oh, the scrappy one is my favorite, hands down! Well done!
Congrats on this. I like them both!
