It’s week 7 and time for another QUBE block with a lot of pieces!
You’ll need two fabrics plus white
then shapes # 4, #5 and #6
From white cut out 8 of shape #5 (3 3/4″ WOF if you are cutting Width of fabrics)
From color A cut 12 of shape #5 (3 3/4″ WOF)
From color B cut 4 of shape #4 (5 3/4″ WOF)
and 1 of shape #6
The A fabric cut from a FQ folded into 6 layers fit PERFECTLY on the die!
because I used a direction fabric as fabric A I laid out the pieces for the block to make sure the stripe went the same way.
Here I already pinned one white small triangle to the center #6 square
While sewing the center part together, also sew the flying geese together!
for me two geese had the stripes vertically and two had them horizontally
Then I also sewed the corner HST blocks and finished the center
then sewed two flying geese to the sides of the center and the corner HST blocks to the sides of the flying geese
and the cute block is done!
here’s the 12” batik version, a totally different look to the block.
It’s such a versatile block
