2nd to last block for the center of the quilt, so close!!
this block is called “almost contrary wife”- how do they come up with the names for these blocks? it’s a 3/4 sized block and pretty easy!
it uses dies #2, 3 and 5
and fabrics B, C and E
with die #2 cut out (1) of fabric B (make this a fun one) and (2) of fabric C
with die #3 cut out (2) of fabric E
with die #5 cut out (4) of fabric C
it’s a bit of an odd block, so lay out the pieces like this first
then the middle part of the block is sewn together into rows, iron the seams open
then sew the middle together into rows
still iron the seams open
VOILA! a fun wedge shape
then sew the #3 triangles to the angled sides of this
and finish the block like this
Here’s my 4 blocks
I don’t really like my 8” QUBE version, but oh well.
well have fun with yours
Here’s the pics from last week’s participants.
I was so impressed someone caught up in a week or so, I think! she was speed sewing, that’s for sure!!
some great blocks
