QUBE angles Batik strip quilt

ever since I showed the test block for Island Batik made from 5” strips, I just wanted to make more!

This one block I sent to Island Batik as part of my ambassador application for 2018!

I had quite a few bundles of 5” strips from this ambassador box, so I started cutting out the pieces and figured that I had enough to make 12 blocks! I used the 6” Qube set and matching 6” Angles set

I was showing this picture on the Accuquilt and Beyond FB group, that there’s not much waste (ignoring that I used the 5” strips, I could have cut that down, but that 1/2” or whatever above is not worth saving.

some of the blocks had low contrast

some had high contrast

and some were in the middle

here’s the 12 blocks done!

I then had enough scraps of the same 5” strips to cut out rectangles for the border (and 4 small squares)

the completed size is 39 x 51 now I just need to quilt it!

This is an awesome block! I love the circular effect you get even though it's straight seams!
