Put a little love Blog hop

love logo

Before my 2nd trip to Denmark, I was reminded of the blog hop and I had completely forgotten about it, or thought I had plenty of time, so thanks for the reminder Carol!! and thanks for hosting this blog hop Smile

The theme is HEARTS

I’ve done heart projects before, but wanted to do something NEW

so I came up with these

a set of Valentine’s pot holders!

heart potholders

I started with some red and white fabric and the 2,3,5” heart die from Accuquilt

GO! Heart-2", 3", 4" (55029)

and the candy hearts embroidery file from Accuquilt too

GO! Candy Hearts Machine Embroidery Set by Marjorie Busby (BQ-CHe)

I then prepared an 8 1/2” square of read fabric for machine embroidery and hooped it and stitched the white outline for the hearts

and cut out 8 of the middle sized hearts with heat and bond on the back (4 at a time on my GO big) and fused those to the red fabric (4 for each)

Then stitched out the rest of the hearts

I made a little hanging strap for each

Then I laid out a piece of batting, a piece of heat resistant batting, the heart pieced fabric, hanging strap and lastly the backing piece wrong side up, and stitched out the perimeter with a walking foot and left an opening at the bottom

then turned right side out, ironed and whip stitched the opening closed.

It took just a few hours! Now I don’t know I’m keeping these or giving them as a gift

Other projects I’ve made with hearts are a zippered pouch with this die too

a heart tote bag

and I am working on more secret projects with the wonky heart die Winking smile

I am just like you and couldn't stop making heart projects for the blog hop. I posted mine the first day but have several others in the works as well. I couldn't decide on a final project and then just got carried away. The pot holders are terrific. I know they are quite useful but what a shame for them to be used and get dirty!!!

  18. Very cute potholders, as are all the other projects. Lots of seasonal sweetness at your place. 🙂
