Pink, pink, pink!

This year I’m joining Patterns by Jen’s monthly color challenge,

but I’m doing my own blocks with Accuquilt BOB dies!

She’s already announced all the colors and I’ve printed the list out and hung it up near my ironing board.

The color for January is Pink!

so I got out my pink scrap bin and SOME of my Accuquilt BOB dies, it was so hard to decide which ones I would use!

so I figured out a system sort of, I starting matching shapes with the scraps I had and formed a plan slowly and then decided if the blocks needed a neutral background or not.

then I cut out the pieces! Top left is Crossed Canoe, then next to that is Priscilla, then to the right is Washington’s puzzle

below those is Arkansas Traveler

below that is the pieced butterfly die

below that is the Chinese lantern

below that is the morning star die and to the right is the hunter star die.

once I started piecing these, I couldn’t stop, I just had to finish and take a picture of the 8 blocks.

I kept the hunter star in 4 sections as I think I’ll shuffle these around with the rest of the colors, the Washington puzzle block I will need more of and I’ll keep the blocks all solid, the crossed canoe I’ll just make more blocks with one side wild pring and one side solid, the Chinese lantern seems fine with a black background and light and dark solids or blenders, Priscilla is cute and I bet I’ll make a bunch of these too, the butterfly is fine, so is the morning star and the Arkansas traveler’s blocks, these 3 are rather large blocks so I might just make the 12 and be done, we’ll see.

I still have several more BOB dies and might make more pink blocks later, we’ll see, these complicated blocks SURE are easy with Accuquilt dies!!
