I got Sonja in her new red dress.
I used this pattern
Now the pattern is from 3m and up to 8yr, Sonja is 9m so I made a size 12m and shortened the straps, they fit her perfectly now, so I don’t know if I should lengthen them a bit or leave them ( I didn’t trim in the back yet)
Fabrics from Singapore from Gwen!
Here’s the current Women of the bible BOW HULDAH #31
it’s all FPP – a somewhat simple pattern, went together quickly
Huldah was a profetess.
When I saw the name I was thinking of my math teacher in school in Denmark, her name was NOT huldah, but somehow we all gave her that as a nickname, don’t know WHY!!
One of my favorite teachers (well I always got along great with my math teachers, I was good at it, so I guess I was a teacher’s pet!)
In Denmark you usually stay at the same school from K-10th grade and you have the same class mates and the same homeroom (danish) and math teacher from 1st to 7th grade, so you develop a friendship with the teachers! – now it stinks if you DON’T get along with your teachers or classmates. But most often you are friends with your teachers and call them by first name too, I remember trading video games with my English/German teacher- who was my all time favorite teacher, just a great guy! I still send him Christmas cards!
Some of you were asking what magazine the pineapple blocks were from.
Quiltmaker Sept/Oct 2009
(This is a quilt I’ve been working on the longest until now)
the pattern is called Great Ball of fire
(I did an EQ version for my colors)- can’t find the file now so good thing I printed it
here’s the pattern online
I’ve finished most of the top with 2 borders
Now do I want to just finish with a plain black border or should I do the saw tooth border like the pattern shows?? it would be black and grey….
Part of me wants to get it DONE and part of me thinks I may as well go all out and do it right since it’s been THIS long in the making.
What do you think?
Now I wanted to start a NEW project with this one being almost done, so I took out the RB fabrics on the left and with just 3 colors I figured I could come up with a cute baby girl quilt
Here’s my EQ sketch, it will be small about 35” but still cute
(I added a little bit of white/off white)
yesterday I made the FPP parts
Quarters sewn together!
And here’s a few Sonja pics
We both have Greek yoghurt for breakfast
She often gets a LITTLE messy!
She just LOVES Peanut!
I think he DEALS with her because he knows she’s the one who spills or crumbs around the high chair!
And she’s starting to pull up to STANDING…..
here she did it by the window as she watched Daddy water the new apple trees. When he was done and out of sight she yelled “DA DA DA DA” really loud!

Sonja in her little dress is too cute!LOVE Great Ball of Fire!! Might have to look for that.
They're both gorgeous, Bea! The pineapple top and Sonja!
Adorable dress and an even more adorable baby! Your pineapple quilt is looking fabulous!
What a beautiful dress on the sweetest little girl ever.
Sonja looks so sweet in her pretty new dress. All of her pictures are adorable, especially the one with Peanut. She'll be walking on her own any day now. LOOK OUT WORLD! ; )
I can't get over the size of your list—and the dog! Sweet girlie
I say go all out. You've done such a beautiful job, why quit now?
She is so adorable…just a suggestion, if you want us to pay attention to your quilting don't put such cute pictures of your little one on there…..just enjoyed it totally!
I'm sure you already know this, but you have the cutest baby ever! Don't ever think you put too many pictures of her up on your blog – I think you should put one up with every post she is so adorable! Can you tell I love babies?
Hi Bea–the blue/black quilt is a stunner! The center is so spectacular, I'm not sure I'd do a lot of busy work in the borders–you don't want to detract from the main design…but that's just me!Sonja is a total delight!
Thanks for sharing the source for your Great Balls of Fire quilt Bea – I just love that so much!!!! You may be seeing a similar version on my blog sometime in the next 10 years Hahaha! I actually think I may have that magazine – going to find it now! As for yours, I vote for going whole hog and taking the time to make it as great as it can be. You would always wonder what it would have looked like if you don't :*)
