Pineapple Quilt top is DONE!!
I had a friend and my husband both VOTE for adding the fancy border.
(Thanks bloggers!- you were NO help at all, those of you who commented said I could do either way depending on how I felt, ha! no help at all) teasing!
I’m SEW happy with how it turned out!
I “thought” I was using the grey, but I didn’t have enough fabric, so I switched to the dark blue, which I’m happy I did.
I was happily sewing the sections together, then realized my seam allowance was actually NOT 1/4”- this was after I had sew parts together 2 and 2 (6 pieces in a row for one block)
so how did I fix it? I fixed the seam allowance after the 6 pieces were on and the bottom black piece I KNEW was correct, so I took my chalk pencil and drew a line 1/4” as a seam allowance on the back of the blocks and finished them that way, some were a SQUEAKER! but they fit PERFECTLY!
Look WHO was in her playpen and peeking over the edge STANDING up and do you see what she’s doing?? how dare SHE stick out her tongue and her own MOTHER!! GASP!!
She was into more mischief this morning, getting my clamps from the long arm from a standing position too, she did CRASH right after this picture, but she’s okay!!
Remember the monogrammed blocks I did for a friend??
(SAME friend who suggested the border option on the pineapple block)
She turned the blocks into pillows with frilly fringes.
Isn’t this cute??
If you have kids or grand kids who play PC or XBox games, chances are you’ve heard (or they know of) MINECRAFT!!
This game was introduced to them last Christmas and oh my! they are HOOKED….. They have NOT played another game since. it’s a simple 3D building block game, sort of like virtual LEGO’s.
The graphics are very simple too, I don’t see the appeal, but anyways they are addicted (the only thing I can punish them with if they misbehave is to take that game away for a day or threaten to do it)
So my kids had fun over the weekend making minecraft perler bead models. It got me thinking of a minecraft QUILT!! that would be cool.
I did see a simple pattern on craftsy for enderman ( I think that’s the green guys name) My son’s birthday is in August and I can’t do much in secret over the summer. OR wait until Christmas… OR just do it while they know about it.
This came in the mail today….. no note or invoice, don’t know if I won it or bought it… anyways, THANKS!!
Now isn’t this pic GREEEAAAT?
I used to quote office space all the time!!
and some cute doggie ones
aww, poor curious George!

Absolutely LOVE the pineapple top!!! I also have one addicted to Minecraft, but I'm not tempted to make a minecraft quilt, yet… Sooooo many squares 😉

Gorgeous–I love that the border has some interest but doesn't take away from the cool center of the quilt. You have a winner on your hands, for sure!
The pineapple quilt is awesome…it has a real 3D effect and the border is perfect!
