Last week I got an email about this pincushion parade from
And of course I had to join!! I love pincushions and have hosted a swap for quite some years now.
One part of the parade is to show your “UGLY” pincushion and I love every single one of my pincushions but my FIRST one that I made, was made by hand sewing the pieces and just because it’s old it has also collected quite some dust!
Now from my oldest to my newest! I just got this in the mail from my swap partner- Thanks Cheryl!!
Then I got ready for the “parade”
I have pincushions all sorts of places so I had to make sure I found all the hiding places and pulled them all out!
I asked my oldest daughter to help set them out and she was ACTUALLY willing to help and had fun!
Here’s “JUST” the owls
Then animals and seasonal ones
then sewing related
Swiffer even wanted to help!
Here’s all of them!
completed! and Solveig actually thought it was cool and fun!!
My middle daughter wanted to help too and I wanted to get a top view of all of them too so she helped lay them out on the floor!
I think this is called “knolling” btw
If I counted correctly I have close to 100!! (98) – maybe I counted wrong I don’t know, I get a different number each time!!
(I just noticed I don’t have any purse pincushions nor biscornu pincushions that I used to make lots of, I guess I gave them all away or little fingers took the purses to play with)
It was fun to lay them all out and see them all again….
If you are ever interested in joining my pincushion swap, look for a blog post soon, as Sept is our last month of this round and I start sign ups mid month of the last month, the next round will be Oct-Dec, so for 3 months and those are usually busy months so plan ahead!! it’s a lot of fun to get a squishy package in the mail each month, it’s like Christmas!!
Hope you’ll join
and thanks ladies for hosting this link up of pincushions
So fun this is. I tried to find some of the pincushions I made for you, and I think I saw a few. I can also spot many of them I have just the same as you. Pincushionswap is just awesome, so I recommend all to join in for the next round. I'm making a blogpost later today, just have to find all my hundred pincushions. Have a nice day. Thinking of you in the US now you have to deal with Irma.
Wow! You do have a lot of pincushions. 98! What a fabulous addition to the PIncushion Parade. Thanks for joining. Your pincushion swap sounds like fun. I'll be watching for your next announcement and plan to join the swap.
Oh my goodness! I don't know how you can even find them all! How many of them do you actually use for putting pins in – that's what I want to know. I like the owl ones a lot. I must get an owl pincushion… 🙂
Wow, that certainly is a lot of pincushions …… I do like the little bird with the thread catcher on the bottom left of the photo
