Patriotic Baby dreams quilt

I finally got the binding done for this quilt

It’s made using the pattern called Baby dreams which is a jelly roll pattern.

The pattern has templates to make 2″ x 6″ blocks, but it’s really a simple chisel shape and I got out a jelly roll and used my 6″ QUBE chisel shape and cut out as many as I could of each and played around with them.

all the shapes are facing the same way so no fanfolding on the die and for this die, all the fabrics have to be face down.

I sewed them together into sets of 2 but only half of them with the neighbor fabric behind it and the other half with the neighbor fabric in front of it from the roll.

This was my idea….. so not quite like the pattern for the general idea I guess.

When I sewed it together, it ended up long and skinny, not what I had thought, but I kept going and added a border, so now the quilt is 36″ x 56″ a very odd shape, but I’ll donate it to hospice maybe it’ll be a nice hospital bed size or wheelchair/lap quilt?

I quilted a really big loopy design called Majolica in off white thread and then added a solid red binding

For the backing I used some American flag fabric from last quarter’s club fabrics.

You can get baby dreams here

Love the pattern and your color choice made it amazing. That would look great scrappy too.
