It’s time for block 3 for the Pasture QAL with the 12″ QUBE
(or whatever other QUBE you want to use, but the pattern shows rotary cutting for 12″ blocks)
This week the block is the middle block on the last row (block 11 ), again I sort of jump around based on how the white fabrics are cut to minimize waste.
For this block cut out 2 of the background white fabric and 2 of fabric A with shape #6
(you can cut 3 with the white and put the extra one aside for a future block- it’ll make sense if you see the chart in the pattern, and this is all you have to cut with fabric A and shape 6)
Then cut 8 each of fabric A and E and shape #5 both of these are all you need of shape #5 from these fabrics
Shape #6 is an on-point square so start adding the small triangles to the sides of these, it’s easy to see which fabrics go with which block as the A triangles can’t go with the A squares 😉
Make 2 of each of these diamond blocks like this (and notice that the way things are cut on the die, the fabrics WILL be right side up correctly on the blocks!)
Then sew them together into a block like this (It doesn’t matter if your white background blocks are on the other corners than mine)
Because my A is the farm animal prints, the #6 squares are on point as well so I pointed them both inward a bit- whichever way looks good!
If you’ve made these block and want me to share them you can tag me on IG #bealeequilter or email them to me 🙂
