I showed how to sew these ahhhh’s together and how tot quilt by turning it inside out.
Here’s another version called 7 wishes which can be purchased here
This was part of the 7 wishes EPP swap I hosted and we all got the blocks back and I finished mine here
again after removing the papers I ironed it flat but still not too much so I could still see the crease.
using the crease as a guide, I trimmed 1/4” past that for a seam allowance for an outer border that I machine pieced
here you see the crease, which I lined up with the 1/4” mark on the ruler and then trimmed all 6 sides
then I cut out white strips for borders, bigger that the edges, just to be safe and sewed two to opposite sides
then following the trimmed edges, I trimmed the border also and added the remaining 4 sides
just as before I pinned right sides together with backing and batting under the backing fabric and sewed 1/4” all the way around leaving 4” or so open for turning right side out.
here it’s all quilted! –it DOES lay flat, it’s just the way it’s hanging on the wall
again I outlined each shape without going in the ditch
here’s the back
Here’s a gorgeous Christmas runner!
You can buy the paper piecing kit in Tonya’s shop here
– the one where I just added borders!
I long arm quilted swirls all over it in the traditional way and added a binding, using a chevron fabric that I sort of fussy cut.
I was auditioning different red fabrics but decided on the chevron!
I measured out 2 1/2”, so from the upper tip of a red chevron, I trimmed 1 1/4” on each side, it was tricky, as the chevrons were 1” wide, so 2 1/2” total, left a 1/2” trim off, but I love the look of it!
Thanks so much for the last several posts. I have not yet quilted any of my EPP projects and this info will really help. Such pretty projects!
English paper piecing is something I want to try again. It makes such a beautifully pieced quilt. Thanks for sharing all your tips I will be coming back to re read them all this winter.in stitches
You are making me very interested in EPP, and I'm no hand stitcher. Beautiful work Bea!
