Owl hipster purse and giveaway!

Last week I bought this owl hipster embroidery file at embroiderygarden.com

Then I made a purse and figured I’d use some of Island Batik’s lovely batik fabrics.

Also, while I was making it I thought I’d give it to my daughter to give to her 4th grade teacher at the last day of school 🙂

Very good directions on this and I think it turned out adorable, I might just have to make another one for myself, you know that’s the reason why I got the file and these zippers!

Inside the purse is a green batik and there’s NO raw edges inside, it’s ALL in the hoop! and took about 20 min to embroider.

It was my first time embroidering over a zipper but I tried to go slow (600spm) which was still fast, but since the teeth are plastic and weren’t exposed directly to the needle, it worked like a charm!

UPDATE! found out her teacher’s favorite color is purple so I made a purple version (also using Island Batik fabrics)

It turned out cute too and my daughter picked out the fabrics!

Now for the giveaway!

embroiderygarden is sponsoring a $20 gift “card” for their website.

All you have to do is LIKE their facebook page  and comment below that you did.

You can follow mine too for a bonus entry and comment that you did

For a 3rd entry I’d like to know what embroidery machine you have and what’s the biggest hoop you have. This owl purse was the large version of the two to fit a 6 x 10 hoop but there’s also a 5 x 7 hoop version.

I will pick a winner on Wednesday the 17th

Good luck!!

  31. To learn how to do this artwork you need a bit of training and at first it can be difficult but afterwards when you get the hang of it you wont face any problem as this will become easy for you if you work hard in your training session. For those people who ask what is embroidery it can be difficult to explain it to them as they wont just understand it by the definition, they have to see it themselves the art and then they will get the complete idea about it. If you are interested in embroidery and if you want to be an expert in this art then you need to take this work as your hobby as all the other people do. Embroidery Digitizing
