Owl be ready for the craft show soon

I got accepted in the Chatham Market craft show on Oct 25th.

(there will be 3 quilters though- so I don’t think I’ll bring that many quilts but more SMALL stuff)

So I bought this owl stuffie at Dolls and daydreams

This is the 5 x 7 hoop version

Love the face!

and another 5 x 7 version with a moon on the belly (part of their design)

I was also playing around with fabric vs felt for the head and belly and eyes.

I decided NOT to double up on layers on the eyes and just make them white, also because the felt seemed to cover up the scalloped stitching.

Here’s the 6 x 10 version

Here I did not fold the wings at all (and yeah they are crooked! but kind of gives it character, doesn’t it?)

And my daughter picked up this white fabric and I picked the green felt, decided to do all felt from now on.

Here’s all 4 together!

Then added one more that fits a 7 x 11 hoop (my hoop is actually 8 x 12, so the 3 largest sizes fit it)

this is a fun orange and yellow version with a white moon on the belly

a happy bunch!!

I ran out of fiber fill, so more will have to wait until I get more Winking smile

I love these owls, though surprisingly they were harder to make than the mice….

Have you tried any of the Dolls and daydream files?

Did you know they also have regular sewing patterns for these.

Have a look!

I want to make BOYISH stuffies too, which one of these should I get?

  1. I am thinking you really have to get the fox and probably the dinosaur too!!Love your heading of this post, LOL

  2. All so cute. I like the dinosaur. Snowman would also be a cute seasonal item.Good luck at the Craft Fair. I hope you sell a lot and get customers that will place custom orders in the future too!SewCalGalwww.sewcalgal.blogspot.com

Those turned out adorable! I think for a boy the dinosaurs are perfect. If it were me, I would do them in Minky fabric. So soft and kids love the feel of Minky stuffed toys.Good luck at the craft show. Let us know how it goes!Nancywww.embroideryit.com

  5. I think you should do some monsters, but definitely some SNOWMEN! With the Frozen craze, I think they'll sell well.

I love the fox or the dinosaur for the boys. These are adorable, Bea! Of course, we'll be out of town that weekend so I can't even help out by purchasing!
