Happy Easter everyone!
the girls got dressed up fancy for Church on Sunday and I wanted to take a group picture, this is the best one I got!
a bit of sibling rivalry!?
We had my in-laws over for dinner, which has been years! but I know they are cooped up and not really happy with the food at their independent living place, so I invited them over for ham dinner, and it went well!
Now while cleaning out and moving stuff out of their old place, we inherited some things, here was a cookbook from 1947! I was flipping thru the pages and found a “game” section and it was just hilarious, roasted racoon! or muskrat or opussum
Elk steak or burgers or moose?
(I sent this to Joan at moosestash quilting)
of course I posted it to FB as well, and someone tagged me on this picture!!
Anyways,
I’ve been playing with the new QUBE corners set (blog post coming soon)

I've cooked elk, deer and bison. My son (in Alaska) gets bison, moose and reindeer meat. My hubby's uncle was the (fresh) roadkill king. He made the best raccoon sausage. He'd cook any meat that came along. He said he didn't like skunk (said it tasted skunky) or rattlesnake, since it was too greasy. I have a wildlife cookbook, but haven't cooked with it (hubby hasn't hunted since we left Texas). We have a Wild Game dinner at our church each year, geared towards hunters. I never know what meat they are going to give me to cook.
The girls look darling. Happy Post Easter to you and yours!
I will pass on the possum…but if you need some, come here and trap ya some. Cute girls.
What a fun cookbook and love the photo someone sent you!
