Last week I showed you that I won a bundle of 5 batik FQs
they are just lovely!
so of course I am starting to think of a project!
Last fall I made a tutorial for this circle in a star quilt top, using 20 (actually 21 FQs) here
here’s the 21st block- on the back!
here’s the EQ file
so then I thought I should make a smaller version
Should I make it with black, maybe just a solid black like this?
or get another 5 batik FQs in bright but matching colors?
It would be a small baby quilt. 39″ square.
I’m leaning toward a solid 2nd color, doesn’t have to be black, it could be purple, blue, pink or whatever other color, I just don’t have enough of ONE color…. bummer!
what do you think?

I’m also thinking of another project… more calendar quilts, I only made jan-march and gave away march. all needle turn, but if I start one it would be machine quilted, maybe start july?
I looked at my shelf with customer quilt and my own completed quilts, some to keep, some to give away etc.. I have 15!! uh oh, time to “get rid” of these. I do have a family I want to give 3 to, so I think that’s holding me up. That’s my excuse anyways 🙂
Oh and I ordered a bundle of Dr seuss FQs the other day, shh! don’t tell! it was on sale, and it’s so cute, so how could I stay away…
I better finish up this customer’s quilt so I can get paid so hubby won’t fuss too much about my fabric purchases 🙂
Alright, Bea, you asked. I like the last one of the circle in a star patterns. I love bright colors, and I love Batiks, so I suggest you get more Batik fat quarters and make the last one. 😀
I like batiks with black, really makes them pop, unless they are dark too, then I like a bright color. Do what makes you happy! I have got to learn how to use my EQ! LaDonna
I like both ideas. So you could always do what I do when 1 quilt will do make 2. LOLhttp://richardquilts.blogspot.com
