So Scrappy announced that Orange was the color of the month for May, probably my least favorite color, that and purple which was last month’s color, so I never have much fabric of either color!
I pulled out my ORANGE scrap bin and sorted what fabrics were string, small pieces and larger chunks and it wasn’t MUCH!! then I found blocks that I thought maybe I could manage to make with these scraps- still wasn’t much.
The first block to show is the Washington Puzzle block, it’s a tiny block so that wasn’t hard to find enough scraps for except they had to be solids and light and dark, but I managed- only barely though! I know I’ll need a gazillion more of these blocks so finish a nice sized quilt, we’ll see what I come up with later.
Next is the Chimney Sweep block that required the largest chunk of scraps and I used canva to find the complimentary color which was blue and now this block is so BOLD compared to the rest! this will be interesting to see with many blocks together.
and lastly is Priscilla, I guess I didn’t follow the dark/light rule on this block, I guess I sort of did with the solid middle section I guess. I’ve actually been working with this die for another quilt and THAT’S is what used a LOT of orange scraps, wait and see 🙂
Of course all these are Accuquilt dies
