Night time By the river QAL sewing block pieces together

We finished cutting the pieces, laid them out and “shuffled” the pieces last week.

You can sew the blocks together any way you want, whatever works to keep track of where the fabrics go.

Here’s one way I did it. I took a whole pile of big star points and backgrounds and the same with the smaller inner star, I only took one of the star point sides, as that’s all I can sew in one sitting 🙂 I like to start with the left side but that’s just a preference.

and I also did a set of corner HSTs

I then sewed all these together, so now if my block pieces fell on the floor I’d know what order everything goes in (except for the center block but that won’t be hard to figure out actually)

I “feed the dogs” so that means I sewed all 20 sets of each pile together, one after another without cutting anything apart. Once that was done, I cut them apart ONE at a time to keep the order, but once I was at the ironing table I flipped the pile over so I iron from the back and lay each piece on top of each other, so this way the order is not right again!

and PRESS SEAMS OPEN!

When pressing the blocks you can see there’s an “order” to them 🙂

see how I could just add the piles back on my table and everything is in the right order

It’s a lot of pieces to sew together but it’s fun to see them go together, so let’s do them all this week!

I am ready with pattern but decided to work ona class I paid for Advanced Quilt Path. I ordered a fabric line and need to catch up! Maybe we could possibly slow down if others are also in the slow boat on the River!
