I pulled out one of my old patterns called BL102 Rainbow Nine Patch last December I think or maybe even earlier and figured I’d try something different with it, where I used solids and just FQs and cut the squares smaller, I made the top but then waited on borders for a long time, but finally got some solids from MMF (the FQ bundle I used was from MMF when I was an ambassador for them in 2020!)
I finally got some backing ready for it and quilted it and finished it, it measures 46″ x 54″ (because I modified the border a bit)
I don’t often work in all solids and if I do the colors are usually bright and colorful, here the fabrics are muted and I love the quilt!
I love how the blues melt into each other
for the backing I used this purple mottled MMF fabric (which was leftover from the FALL club from last year)
Since this was an “old” pattern, as I worked on it, I found that the directions were maybe not as clear as they should be so I decided to rewrite the pattern and ADD QUBE directions – it’s just all squares so very simple but still a QUBE chart for all the different sized squares so now the pattern includes 7 different sizes.
TODAY ONLY the PDF version is on sale for $8!
It’s such a fun and easy pattern, here’s some other pictures from my testers and customers who made this and you can add applique or omit it, it’s cute either way!
I love your muted quilt! The blues especially!
