Never too late for a morning star

I realized I never blogged about this quilt and I made it in February!!

Remember how I got the morning star die recently from Accuquilt

Of course I started playing in EQ8 and came up with this

I actually think it came from this one first but as I pulled out fabrics to match the yardage, it changed into the green one..

I had this really cute tinkerbell fabric (actually two of them) and somehow I think Anja has seen some scraps from my scrap bin and clearly recognized Tinkerbell, so I figured it was time to use the yardage and MAYBE give her the quilt…

It’s a bit tricky to see that there’s two different prints, they are so close in color but the background and style is quite different

so I sewed the blocks together

Then sewed them together in a 3×3 layout and I had enough for a border too!

I think the top was 42″ x 42″ or something like that.

I quilted a flower e2e design from urban elementz in a pale purple thread

Love how some Tinkerbell sections shows her full body and attitude!

I found another tinkerbell fabric for the backing and added some of the purple as a stripe down the middle as a WOF wasn’t big enough.

I also added the purple as binding.

during the whole time when I made it, Anja saw more of the Tinkerbell fabrics and even said “uhh I like it” sooooo…. of course I gave her the quilt!

  1. Cute! That’s a neat block and I love it with the Tinkerbelle fabrics! So glad your daughter got to keep it 🙂
